Protestant Church by night

Hi all
Though I'm currently not in Katowice, an occasional update may happen in this blog, thanks to a good soul PAK who kindly gave mi permission to post some of his photos here :) Thanx PAK!

The protestant church in Katowice is the oldest church in Katowice an was built from 1856 to 1858 by the architect Richard Lucae. Since then there have been two rebuildings (1887-1889 and 1899-1902). (info source: wiki)

Urban landscape with a fountain

Appologies to all those who visit my blog sometimes expecting some new photos... I've had busy time recently and taking photos was the last thing on my mind... But a few days ago I finally went for a nice photo-hunting walk and now have a few pictures to post.
This one is the fountain in the roundabout; the dome of the Cathedral can be seen quite clearly, though it is rather far from the place from which I was shooting.

Wooden XVI-century church

In the photo yesterday was the wooden belfry standing next to this old wooden church. The Mass is still celebrated here every Sunday. Below is the history of this church (jotted down from the info table):

Katowice Church (16th century).
Church of St. Michael the Archangel, 1510; transfered in 1938 from Syrynia; with an end-fitted log framework construction and shingled roof. Free-standing bell-tower, before 1679; historic lychgate and wooden fence around the churchyard.

St Peter and Paul Church at Mikołowska Street

The St. Mary's Church

The steeple of this neo-gothic church is towering above Mariacka Street.
Built in the years 1862-1870, architect: Alexis Langer.
